Donations
All Donations are Amazing!
Campaigns like this cost money - your donations help pay for signs, printing, advertising, and website hosting. There are three ways to donate:
By cheque
Payable to Jessica Wegg, with Comox Council Candidate in the memo line. Please include your full name, residential address, and a phone number or email so I can record the contribution properly.
By e-transfer
Send it to jessica.wegg.comox@gmail.com. Please put your full name and residential address in the message field.
By cash
I will have a donations jar at my events - anonymous (cash) donations cannot be more than $50.
The Rules
Only individuals can contribute. You must be a resident of British Columbia and either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.
It has to be your own money. Contributing on someone else's behalf, or giving someone money so they can contribute, is not allowed.
Contributions are per person, so a couple wanting to give together should send two separate contributions.
Businesses, unions, and other organizations cannot contribute, and cannot give the campaign a discount that isn't offered to everyone.
The limit for 2026 is $1,429.70 per contributor for this campaign, counting donated goods and services along with money.
If you contribute $100 or more, Elections BC publishes your name and the amount in its public contributions database. Elections BC obscures contributor addresses before publishing.
Donated goods or services count as contributions at their market value and against the same limit. Please talk to me before arranging anything, because I have to record and approve it.
No Tax Receipt
Contributions to local election campaigns in British Columbia are not eligible for tax receipts. There is no charitable receipt and no political contribution credit for a municipal campaign.
